Coach Portal Guide

Getting Started

Log In

Go to snapstats.app and log in. You'll land on the Coach Portal dashboard with upcoming games and recent results.

Your Dashboard

The dashboard shows:

  • Next 5 upcoming games
  • Recent completed games with scores
  • Announcement composer (send messages to the whole team)

One-Time Setup: Connect YouTube

Connect Your Team's YouTube Channel

Before your team can live stream games, you need to connect a YouTube channel. This only needs to happen once.

  1. Go to Admin Portal → Streaming
  2. Find your team and click Connect YouTube
  3. Sign in with the YouTube/Google account where you want game recordings stored
  4. Approve the connection

Don't have a YouTube channel?

Create one free at youtube.com with any Google account. Your game recordings will be stored there automatically.

Do not change stream settings in YouTube Studio

SnapStats configures your broadcasts automatically for the best video quality and stat sync. Do not change latency, resolution, or encoding settings in YouTube Studio.

Game Day

Before the Game

Make sure the game is created with the correct opponent, date/time, and venue. Assign a streamer and/or trackers if needed.

Track Stats

During the game, open the game detail and tap Track Stats. You'll see the player grid and action buttons. The flow is always: player first, then action.

After the Game

Once the game is marked final and tracking is complete:

  • Analysis - view stat breakdowns, player performance, shot charts
  • Film Room - click any stat event to jump to that moment in the video
  • AI Recap - generate a written game summary
  • Homework - assign film study to specific players

Season Analytics

Go to Analytics to see season-wide stats, player leaderboards, game trends, and context breakdowns. Export as CSV or PDF.

Playbook

Create animated plays with X/O markers, movement paths, and formations. Assign plays to players and track who's viewed them.

Messaging

Team chat rooms are auto-created. Send messages, share files, use reactions. Start DMs with any team member.
