Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using the SnapStats application or website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

If you are accessing the Service on behalf of a club, organization, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

You must be at least 13 years old to create a SnapStats account. Users between the ages of 13 and 17 must have verifiable parental or guardian consent before their account is activated.

Children under the age of 13 may not create accounts under any circumstances. Roster data for minor athletes under 13 (name, jersey number, position) may only be entered by authorized adult coaches or club administrators for the purpose of stat tracking. See Section 9 for full COPPA details.

SnapStats accounts are available to:

• Clubs and organizations registering on behalf of a team or program
• Coaches and staff invited by a club administrator
• Parents and guardians creating an account to view a minor athlete's stats
• Players aged 13 and older with verifiable parental or guardian consent

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.

SnapStats is a multi-sport stat tracking platform for youth and club sports. The Service includes:

• Real-time game stat tracking and event logging
• Team and roster management
• Video upload, streaming, and film-synced stat clips
• AI-powered game recaps, scouting reports, and announcer features
• In-app messaging between coaches, players, and parents
• Analytics, benchmarks, and player progression tools
• Fundraising tools for clubs and teams

Features may vary by subscription tier. We may add, modify, or remove features at any time with reasonable notice.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, SnapStats grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service (including the mobile application) for your personal or organizational use.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service or any part of it
• Use the Service to build a competing product
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the Service
• Sublicense or transfer your rights under this license to any third party

This license terminates automatically if you violate these Terms.

SnapStats offers a free tier with limited functionality as well as paid subscription tiers with expanded features.

Web subscriptions (Stripe)

Subscriptions purchased through the SnapStats website are processed by Stripe. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) and will auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. You may cancel at any time through the Stripe customer portal accessible from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds are issued for partial billing periods.

In-app purchases (Apple)

Subscriptions purchased through the SnapStats iOS app are processed by Apple via the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions by going to your Account Settings in the App Store after purchase.

Price changes

We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing. For web subscriptions, we will provide at least 60 days' advance notice via email. For App Store subscriptions, Apple will notify you of any price changes in accordance with App Store policies, and you will have the opportunity to accept or cancel before the new price takes effect.

Failed payments

If a payment fails, we will attempt to collect payment for up to 14 days. If payment is not resolved, your subscription will be downgraded to the free tier. Your data will be retained for 90 days, during which you may resubscribe or export your data.

Refunds

For web subscriptions through Stripe, no refunds are issued for partial billing periods. For App Store purchases, refund requests must be directed to Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policy. SnapStats does not have the ability to issue refunds for purchases made through the App Store.

Your content. You and your club retain ownership of all content you create on the platform, including rosters, player information, game data, stat entries, video uploads, messages, and session configurations.

License to operate. By using the Service, you grant SnapStats a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, process, store, and display your content solely for the purposes of operating, maintaining, and providing the Service to you and your authorized users.

Anonymized data. You grant SnapStats a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to anonymize and aggregate your content to create data products such as statistical benchmarks, sport-level insights, and performance trends. Such anonymized data cannot identify individual users, athletes, or clubs. SnapStats owns all rights to anonymized and aggregated data.

Video content. By uploading video to the platform, you represent that you have all necessary rights and permissions to share that content, including consent from parents or guardians of minors appearing in the video. When you provide a link to an externally hosted video (such as YouTube), SnapStats stores only the URL reference and does not control or host the external content.

What we will not do. We will not sell, license, or share your identifiable content with third parties, except as needed to operate the platform through our service providers as described in our Privacy Policy.

Paid-tier users can export their club's stat data via CSV at any time through the platform. Free-tier users may request a data export by contacting hello@snapstats.app.

Upon subscription cancellation or account deletion, your data will be retained for 90 days, during which you may export your data. After 90 days, identifiable data (including uploaded videos) will be permanently deleted.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure or availability
• Share your account credentials with unauthorized third parties
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Upload content that is illegal, obscene, defamatory, or that violates the rights of others
• Collect personal information about minors beyond what is necessary for stat tracking within your authorized club

SnapStats is designed for use by coaches, club administrators, and parents. We take the privacy of minor athletes seriously and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

No accounts for children under 13. Children under the age of 13 may not create SnapStats accounts under any circumstances.

Player accounts for ages 13 to 17. Players aged 13 and older may create accounts with verifiable parental or guardian consent. During the account creation process for minor players, we require a parent or guardian email to obtain consent before the account is activated.

Roster data for minors under 13. Limited roster data (name, jersey number, position) for athletes under 13 is entered by authorized coaches and administrators solely for stat tracking. This data is not entered by the minors themselves. Parents may contact us at any time to review, correct, or delete their child's roster information.

Parental rights. Parents and guardians may at any time:

• Review the personal information we hold about their child
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of their child's information
• Refuse further collection of their child's information
• Revoke consent for a minor player's account

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@snapstats.app. We will verify your identity and your relationship to the child before processing any request.

The Service integrates with and relies on the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase for database hosting, authentication, and file storage
• Stripe for payment processing and subscription management (web)
• Apple App Store for in-app purchase processing (iOS)
• YouTube for external video streaming and embedding
• OpenAI and Anthropic for AI-powered features including game recaps, scouting reports, and the AI announcer
• Resend for transactional email delivery
• Netlify for web application hosting

Each third-party service operates under its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party service providers.

The SnapStats iOS application is licensed to you, not sold, and Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the application. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the application or your use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the application fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.

The Service, including all software, designs, text, graphics, logos, and other materials, is owned by SnapStats and protected by intellectual property laws. The SnapStats name, logo, and related marks are trademarks of SnapStats.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use the SnapStats name, logo, or trademarks without our prior written consent.

DMCA and takedown requests. If you believe any content on the platform infringes your rights, contact us at hello@snapstats.app with a description of the content and your claim. We will investigate and respond in accordance with applicable law.

By you. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting hello@snapstats.app. Upon deletion, the data retention policies in Section 7 apply.

By us. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for conduct that violates these Terms, is harmful to other users or the Service, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. If we terminate your account without cause, we will provide a prorated refund for any unused portion of a prepaid web subscription.

Upon termination, your license to use the Service terminates immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive (including data ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive termination.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

SNAPSTATS DOES NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY STATISTICS, DATA, AI-GENERATED CONTENT, OR OTHER OUTPUT PRODUCED THROUGH THE SERVICE. STAT TRACKING IS PERFORMED BY USERS, AND AI FEATURES ARE PROVIDED AS SUPPLEMENTARY TOOLS ONLY.

WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE OPERATION OF THE SERVICE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SNAPSTATS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SNAPSTATS IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SnapStats and its owner, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or relating to:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third party's rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights
• Video content you upload or link to through the Service
• Roster or player data you enter without proper authorization or consent

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at hello@snapstats.app and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for a period of at least 30 days.

The following additional terms apply when you download or use the SnapStats iOS application from the Apple App Store:

• These Terms are between you and SnapStats only, not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”). SnapStats, not Apple, is solely responsible for the application and its content.
• Your use of the application must comply with the App Store Terms of Service.
• SnapStats is responsible for providing any maintenance and support services for the application. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the application.
• In the event of any failure of the application to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation with respect to the application.
• SnapStats, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the application or your use of it, including but not limited to: (a) product liability claims; (b) any claim that the application fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (c) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation, including in connection with the application's use of HealthKit and HomeKit frameworks (if applicable).
• In the event of any third-party claim that the application or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, SnapStats (not Apple) will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
